So, I feel I haven't adequately explained the group's name or why it exists. I'm going to do that now.

I'm sick of people using "girl", "girly" and any word pertaining to female identity and/or femininity as insults. If you use "girl" as an insult, it means you think girls are bad, as far as I'm concerned, and that's a sign that we still need to fight for gender equality.

We still have a long way to go when the worst insults one can use against men, are slurs against women and girls.

What I'm saying, is that there is nothing wrong with being female, feminine or both, and that you can be feminine without being a traitor to feminism.

As for the group's avatar, if you're wondering why neither woman pictured is white, that's because I'm sick of the face of feminism being a white, conventionally attractive woman. White-as-default gets me irritated all the time.
